Producer
Production
Alumni of UC Davis, American husband and wife team, John and Muria run Finca Tobella on the steep licorella coated slopes of Gratallops (or "wolf scratches" as it’s known) in Priorat. 'Bocins' translates as "pieced together", referring to the reclaimed terraced vineyards the vines grown on.
Skilled husband and wife vinters are one of a few quality based producers in Priorat making wines, and winning awards along the way. All grapes are handpicked, with 30% of the Grenache grapes fermented and aged in new French oak. The blended wine then spends 6 months on its lees before bottling. Only 1300 bottles produced per year.
Tasting Notes
Light straw colour with wonderfully intense floral aromas from the Viognier; apples, peach and tart citrus. Generous on the palate with textured minerality and superb acidity. If you like your wines complex and textured, look no further.
