Production
Created by Rioja Vega, part of the Principe de Viana group with a history of wine dating back to 1882. Fun fact - Rioja Vega is still today one of the only four wineries that can use the Rioja name in their brand, since its creation predates that of the Regulatory Council itself.
Grapes from "El Pinche", planted at an altitude of 415 meters on a slope facing south and slightly to the west, protected by the Sierra de Codés. The uniqueness of the terroir gives the wine its elegant character. Minimal intervention, sensitive oenology and a delicate touch is used during its stabilization and aging. Racking and barrel aging for 11 months. A total of 18 new barrels have been used in the production of this wine, from 7 different cooperages, made up of up to 9 different types of origins and toasts.
Tasting Notes
Maximum expression of nuts, spices and anise. On the palate, ripe black fruits are presented at the beginning followed by toast, balsamic and leather. The tannins are super soft and the finish is silky, friendly and persistent.
