Darriaud Côtes du Rhône Blanc
Rhone, France
Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne

Production
This wine is what we call "Made by Moreno". Darriaud comes from a selction of parcels, including those in our very own vineyards in Cairanne. It is expertly put together by winemaker extraordinaire Julien Dugas. You will not find better value for money - think of this as a cellar door purchase!
Each parcel is picked separately in the cooler early daylight hours for gentle pressing that same morning, and each is fermented at a low temperature. To a base of Grenache Blanc, we blend Viognier along with co-fermented pairs of Roussanne/Marsanne and Bourboulenc/Clairette (for freshness). The majority is vinified in stainless steel, with approximately a quarter of the wine now vinified and matured for 6 months in 3rd fill 400l French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful and elegant white Côtes du Rhône. The nose is herbaceous and floral, with fresh fennel and honeysuckle. The palate is a delicate balance of ripe stone fruits and subtle vanilla oak flavours.
