Production
Nestled next to the Pevensey Levels Nature Reserve and less than 5 miles from the sea in East Sussex, Henners Vineyard was established in the picturesque village of Herstmonceux in 2007. Planted with the three classic sparkling grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the vineyard is in one of the driest, sunniest pockets of England.
A blend of the three classic varieties, grown on a combination of our own clay soils and neighbouring grower’s chalk soils. The cuvee is expertly put together by winemaker Collette O'Leary using the classical method and aged on lees for 3 years. Finished off with a dosage of 7 g/l.
Tasting Notes
English fizz at its best and encapsulating the very bright future this category has ahead of it. Though Fiennes has the hallmarks of richness and boldness of a classical sparkling aged for this long, it is more defined by its elegance and refined nature, wine with great balance and a delicious citrus and orchard fruit backbone. Beautiful!
