Perusini Picolit

Friuli Colli Orientali, Italy
Picolit
An impossible variety to grow but with results that are worth the heroic effort
Producer
Production
Right on the Slovenian border in North East Italy, 3 brothers (Carlo, Tommaso and Michele) run the Perusini winery making some of the most elegant, subtle and certainly gastronomic wines you're likely to find.
This noble grape variety of Friuli is hand harvested and laid out on racks for 2 months to dry. The raisined grapes are then pressed and vinified in stainless steel tanks, after which they are matured for 10 months in oak barrels
Tasting Notes
Elegant and complex, apricots, figs, candied fruits, orange peel, hints of spice...the list goes on.
