Perusini Refosco
Friuli Colli Orientali, Italy
Refosco
An ancient variety of Friuli, praised by Pliny. Full flavoured with a savoury and harmonious background.
Producer
Production
Right on the Slovenian border in North East Italy, 3 brothers (Carlo, Tommaso and Michele) run the Perusini winery making some of the most elegant, subtle and certainly gastronomic wines you're likely to find.
Fermented in stainless stell using the Ganimede method over the 18 day maceration period. Half the wine is then aged in second and third passage oak barrels for 8 months. All practices are carried out organically.
Tasting Notes
The archetypal Friulian black grape; this refreshing, fruity red brings red cherries, plums and violets to the table. Check out the wonderfully balanced acidity.
Ecological Credentials
Organically farmed
