This winery is one of the oldest and most reputable in all of Siciliy. Each wine comes from specific plots in Sicily that are chose to best express the chosen variety. It is then through this painstaking care and attention that the wines are made to not only showcase the unique Sicilian terrior but the grape as well. They’ve been perfecting this since 1824.
Hand harvested grapes in late September are de-stemmed and maceration follows for 6-8 days at
26° - 30° C. The resulting wine is aged for 6 months in quality French, fine-grained oak barriques and then further aged for at least 2 months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes
Almost jammy notes of wild berries such as blackberries with floral hints and subtle white pepper spice. Rounded and smooth, with gentle tannins and minerality.
