Édes (Sweet late Harvest) 2019
Tokaj, Hungary
Furmint (80%), Hárslevelű (20%) · 2019 · 12% abv
TR Édes is a refreshing late‑harvest wine that balances sweetness with lively acidity. Apricot, passion fruit, tangerine, lychee, pineapple and mint play across nose and palate. A polished finish underscores the wine’s poise.
Production
Whole clusters were gently pressed and the must fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in temperature‑controlled steel tanks. The wine then spent eight months ageing in used 300‑litre Hungarian oak barrels. Organic viticulture and winemaking underpin the process.
Vinyard
The grapes hail from the Palota vineyard in Tállya, a south‑east facing slope at 180–220 m where vines aged 15 to 40 years grow in volcanic soils of andesite and rhyolite with tuff, zeolite and quartz. The site has been farmed organically since 2013 (certified 2019) without pesticides, relying on physical weed control, and is vegan friendly.
Pairing
With its sweet‑tart profile, TR Édes pairs beautifully with blue cheese, foie gras, fruit tarts or lightly spiced Asian dishes, complementing both savoury and dessert courses.
