Barolo Coste di Vergne 2018
Barolo, Italy
Nebbiolo (100%) · 2018 · 14.5% abv
Dark ruby with garnet highlights. Scents of leather, damp earth, and undergrowth layered with blackberry and spice. Dense, sweet-fruited core framed by firm, exuberant tannins; long, dry, savoury finish.

Handpicked late September–October. 30–40 days’ submerged-cap maceration with native yeast. Aged 18 months in large oak, then a lengthy 36 months in bottle for refinement.

Pairing
Excellent with brasato, roast lamb shoulder, or aged Piemontese cheeses. Also works beautifully with porcini risotto or truffle-laced dishes.
