Barrera del Sol Garnacha comes from old vines rooted in granite soils at high altitude, delivering depth and finesse. Aromas of ripe red cherry, wild herbs, and crushed stone mingle with subtle notes of spice and dried flowers. The palate is silky yet powerful, with layers of red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a vibrant mineral backbone. It balances elegance with structure, finishing with precision, freshness, and length, making it an outstanding expression of the Sierra de Gredos.

Production

Old-vine Garnacha grapes are hand-harvesting from quartz-rich granite soils. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged in 500L French oak barrels and concrete eggs, then bottled unfiltered and unclarified, retaining authenticity and natural sediment.

Vinyard

Barrera del Sol is a Vino de Paraje from the southern slope of El Zaudejo, where old-vine Garnacha grows at over 1,000 m on granite soils interspersed with large rock outcrops. The sandy texture and varied depth by plot give complexity and minerality to the fruit. Southeast exposure ensures ripeness while preserving freshness.
