Blockhead Shiraz 2024
Western Cape, South Africa
Shiraz (100%) · 2024 · 14% abv
It’s fresh, vibrant, positively thrumping with white peach and zippy citrus aromas. Delicate apple on the palate with crisp acidity. The grip is there but perfectly balanced with the a classy spiciness.

Made from 60-year-old plus vines, most of which are in the trendy Swartland region. About 30% stems are used in the fermentation and the wine receives a sort of Ripasso treatment as the wine is run over the skins again at the end. The wine spends 3 months in old French oak before bottling.
Vineyard
Vines are trellised and planted is in shale soils bordering the Swartland region.
Pairing
