Bosbrand Carignan 2023

Big-shouldered but nimble. Black cherry, blueberry and violet, a lick of wild herb and smoked spice. Firm yet polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury finish.
Production
Fermented in stainless steel for purity, then raised in large 500–600L French oak to shape, not smother. Careful racking, minimal tinkering and a sensible sulphur regime.
Vinyard
Wellington plots bring sun, structure and a naturally dark fruit profile. Old granite and a drying breeze yield small berries and serious concentration without losing freshness.
Pairing
With its bold red fruit and earthy-meaty notes, Carignan is ideal with richer poultry dishes (turkey, duck), roasted pork, or even a meaty beef brisket.
