Bourgogne Rouge Grande Reserve 2022
Bourgogne, France
Pinot Noir (100%) · 2022 · 13.5% abv
From the Fontaine-Goby family’s oldest Pinot parcels, this 2022 Grande Réserve marries depth with precision. Aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, and raspberry mingle with spice, forest floor, and a whisper of vanilla. The palate is supple and finely knit—silky red fruit framed by gentle oak and bright acidity. Long, poised, and quietly powerful, it captures Burgundy’s grace with effortless charm.
Production
Hand-harvested fruit from mature Pinot Noir vines, selected for concentration and purity. Fermented traditionally, then aged in French oak barrels to integrate texture and spice without overwhelming the fruit. Just 15,000 bottles produced.
Vinyard
Near Chablis in northern Burgundy, the Fontaine-Goby family farms their Pinot Noir vines with full biodynamic commitment — all vineyards Demeter-certified. The soils are limestone-rich, echoing Chablis’ Kimmeridgian heritage, giving purity and lift to the fruit. Surrounded by thriving biodiversity, the estate’s minimal-intervention approach preserves vitality and aromatic clarity — a living expression of its terroir.
Pairing
Superb with roast duck, mushroom risotto, or herb-crusted lamb. Its bright acidity and silky tannins balance savoury dishes and game, while red-fruit finesse pairs beautifully with seared tuna or aged Comté. Serve slightly cool to emphasise freshness.
