Darriaud Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2023
Rhône, France
Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne · 2023 · 13.5% abv
An expressive Rhône white offering aromas of honeysuckle, fennel and white blossom, followed by ripe stone fruits and a subtle touch of vanilla. The palate is fresh yet rounded, with well-judged weight, bright acidity and a gently textured finish that lingers with floral lift.
Production
Each variety is harvested and vinified separately at cool temperatures to preserve delicate aromatics. Viognier and co-fermented Roussanne/Marsanne and Bourboulenc/Clairette components add texture and complexity. Around 25% of the blend is matured for six months in seasoned 400 L French oak, lending subtle structure and nuance.
Vineyard
Sourced from selected parcels across the southern Rhône, where limestone and clay soils provide excellent drainage and flavour concentration. Warm, sun-drenched days build richness and ripeness, while cool nights help retain freshness and aromatic clarity in the fruit.
Pairing
A versatile white that pairs beautifully with delicate seafood dishes, from steamed sea bass and grilled prawns to sushi and sashimi. It also complements creamy risottos or soft, fresh cheeses thanks to its balance of freshness and texture.
