Fritsch Zweigelt 2025
Wagram, Austria
Blauer Zweigelt (100%) · 2025 · 12.5% abv
Deep ruby with violet edges. Blackberry and plum ripple with orange-zest lift and a thread of noble wood spice. Juicy core framed by fine tannins; the finish fans out on black cherry and a subtle, savory snap.
Production
Processed via a bone-dry style with low residual sugar, utilizing stainless steel vats (steel tank expansion) to preserve the fruit-forward aromatic profile, vibrant acidity, and freshness without heavy oak influence.
Vineyard
Regional selection from hilly Wagram sites at ~230 m, facing south. 35-year-old vines planted 3,800–4,000/ha on iron-bearing loam; rainfall 450–750 mm. The clay-rich soils give breadth and color, while exposure ensures full, even ripening.
Pairing
Beef goulash with sweet paprika, roast pork shoulder with caraway, lamb kofta with grilled peppers, or aubergine moussaka. Hard Alpine cheeses also shine against its dark-berry drive.
Ecological Credentials
Organic, Certified Organic, Biodynamic, Vegan, Vegetarian, Kosher
