Kaori Blanco 2023

Rioja Baja, Spain

Viura (95%), Malvasia bianca (2%), Garnacha Blanca (3%) · 2023 · 12% abv

Aromatic and textured, with ripe tropical fruit, grapefruit zest, and delicate floral notes. The palate is full and rounded with citrus brightness, subtle white pepper, and a fine mineral thread. A line of natural acidity keeps everything lifted and precise.
Production

Each variety is vinified separately, with only the first press juice used. After a two-day natural settling, fermentation takes place at 14 °C for 19 days in stainless steel. The wine spends three months in seasoned American oak on fine lees before a final four months of ageing, adding texture and subtle spice.

Vinyard

Viura, Malvasía, and Garnacha Blanca are sourced from select plots in Ausejo, Alfaro, and Quel — including microparcels above 600 m where slow, even ripening enhances aromatic complexity. The Mediterranean climate and mountain influence ensure vibrant fruit and balanced acidity.

Pairing

Its mineral, balsamic edge makes it a natural match for delicate Japanese cuisine — think sashimi, miso cod, or tempura — and it’s equally at home with grilled sea bream or lemon-braised chicken.
