Lasira 2023
VdlT Cádiz, Spain
Syrah (100%) · 2023 · 13% abv
Violet-rimmed, aromatic and poised. Fresh blueberry, olive tapenade, cracked pepper, and cured meat lift from the glass. Silky yet sinewy, with cool graphite undertones and a lingering, spicy persistence.
Production
Whole-berry fermentation with stems in open vats, native yeasts only. Aged 14 months in French oak (15 % new) to polish the tannins without obscuring the savoury core. Bottled unfiltered for nuance and longevity.
Vinyard
From Viña Almocadén in Pago Carrascal, a north-facing site on compact Tosca Albariza. The limestone marl stores winter rain and releases it slowly through the hot season, giving Syrah tension and salinity rare this far south.
Pairing
Superb with roasted lamb shoulder, smoked duck breast, or charred aubergine with tahini. The wine’s spice and freshness cut through fat and smoke elegantly.
