Mala Coste Blanc [Organic] 2023

Languedoc AOP, France

Roussanne (35%), Terret Blanc (30%), Grenache Blanc (35%) · 2023 · 12.5% abv

From 50–80-year-old vines this highly distinctive wine takes its name from the locality known as “Mala Coste”. Golden yellow with silver highlights, it offers floral jasmine aromatics alongside poached pear, citrus peel, and subtle vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, evolving into fennel and hawthorn, with a saline, mineral finish that lingers beautifully. Elegant, expressive, and unmistakably characterful, it’s a wine that reveals its depth with every sip.
Production

Fermented in both stainless steel and concrete tanks, with ageing partly on fine lees. No oak was used, preserving freshness and varietal character.

Vinyard

From vines aged 50–80 years, rooted in clay-limestone soils at 350 m altitude. Old vines provide natural concentration and complexity, while altitude and night cooling preserve freshness. Organic farming and low yields ensure fruit intensity. Hand harvesting maintains precision in the final wine.

Pairing

Perfect as an aperitif or alongside poultry, cheese, fish, and vegetarian dishes. It pairs beautifully with mushroom soup, bass with fennel, dry goat’s cheese, aged Comté, or creamy poultry with mushrooms—elegant, balanced, and effortlessly food-friendly.
