Marola & Mass 2025
DO Rías Baixas, Spain
Albariño (100%) · 2025 · 13% abv
Unmistakably Albarino, Marola & Mass is plush, enjoyable and hits all the highs that you'd want it to. Aromatic herbs, citrus fruits, grapefruit, lemon surrounded by a small cluster pineapple sweetness. Fresh, fruit driven balanced, and persistent. But not like you'll need a restraining order.
Production
The grapes are harvested manually and taken to the winery to a sorting table where they are destemmed. The free-run juice is extracted without applying any pressure, and the must is then set aside to settle for 36 hours at 10°C. After this time, the clear juice ferments in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 14°C for 21 days, remaining on its fine lees until stabilisation and bottling.
Vineyard
Classic Atlantic climate of mild temperatures year-round, high rainfall, along with plenty of sunshine. The terrain is characterized by granite and schist soils, with areas of alluvial and colluvial soils. Annual rainfall can be as high as 1400 mm per year.
Pairing
Pair with fresh Atlantic shellfish, briny oysters, garlic sautéed prawns, or a light ceviche.
