ODE Touriga Nacional 2023

Cartaxo, Portugal

Touriga Nacional (100%) · 2023 · 13.5% abv

Deep purple with aromas of plum, mulberry, and wild herbs. Spicy and earthy on the palate, with a touch of wildness and soft, supple tannins. The finish is savoury and lifted, showing Touriga’s aromatic side without excessive weight.
Production

Cold maceration before foot-treading in traditional stone lagares. Fermentation in stainless steel followed by 3 months in an ovoid vessel for micro-oxygenation. 30 % aged 4 months in new 500 L French oak to integrate spice and polish texture.

Vinyard

A blend of parcels chosen for their warmth and late-ripening capacity. Iron-rich clay and sandy soils provide depth and structure, while careful canopy work ensures balanced fruit expression.

Pairing

Pairs well with grilled lamb cutlets, slow-cooked pork shoulder, or roasted root vegetables. Also excellent with mushroom dishes and cured meats.

Ecological Credentials

Vegan, Vegetarian
