Perripo 2023

Sicily, Italy

Perricone (100%) · 2023 · 13.5% abv

Deep ruby with violet edges, offering notes of blackberry, plum, and Mediterranean herbs. Bold and powerful, yet structured, it showcases the true character of Perricone.
Production

Fermentation and maceration lasted 15–20 days in stainless steel. The wine then matured six months in steel, followed by 3–6 months in bottle to refine tannins and integrate flavours. No oak ageing was employed, preserving varietal intensity.

Vineyard

Perricone vines grow on Marsala’s calcareous hills at 250–400 m altitude. The soils are a mix of limestone and clay, giving structure and depth. The climate brings hot days, cool nights, and long ripening. Traditional vineyard methods are used, with low yields to maximise concentration.

Pairing

A robust partner for grilled meats, rich stews, or wild boar ragù. It also pairs well with aged pecorino.
