Vereda de Las Tórdigas, Garnacha 2019
DO Cebreros, Spain
Garnacha (100%) · 2019 · 13.5% abv
Fresh, structured, and expressive. The wine opens with ripe red fruits, fresh blackberries with the concrete and amphora adding subtle earthy undertones, while soft spicy wood aromas bring warmth and complexity. On the palate, the granite soils take centre stage, lending precision, minerality, and depth. The finish showcases the authentic character of the terroir and the individuality of the vintage.
Production
Grapes are hand-harvested in September–October into 12 kg crates, yielding 0.5–1 kg per plant. After 3–7 days cold pre-fermentation, the must ferments with indigenous yeasts at 20–24 ºC, followed by a 15–30 day maceration and spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Ageing takes place in 1,200 L eggs, 500 L seasoned barrels, and 700 L concrete tanks for ~8 months, with a final blend in stainless steel.
Vinyard
This wine comes from a selection of plots across Burgohondo, where Garnacha thrives on granite soils. Each plot is fermented and aged separately before being blended to reflect the character and typicity of these vineyards. This careful approach highlights the diversity of the land while preserving authenticity. Produced without filtering or clarification, the wine may contain natural sediment, underscoring its minimal intervention philosophy and respect for origin.
